Understanding Mold

3/6/2017 (Permalink)

As you probably know, mold is a microscopic spore.  It can be found anywhere in your home that has moisture.  Windows, doors, Air Conditioning and Heating units; anywhere there is moisture.  Mold also can be brought into a home by pets or humans.  Once you have identified mold in your home, there are steps to the remediation process.

First, contact SERVPRO of Douglas County, SERVPRO of S. Eugene/Florence or SERVPRO of Springfield/E. Lane County.

Our professionals will inspect for visible signs of Mold.  Once mold has been identified, we will set up containment to prevent the spreading of the spores.  Negative air pressure will be applied to contain the mold spores.  An air scrubber will be set up with HEPA filtration to help control the spread of the mold spores.  Depending on the level of mold damage; drywall, subfloors and other building material may be removed.

Lastly, remember, mold spores exist naturally almost anywhere; outdoors and indoors, so removing all mold from a house is impossible.
